Everything you need to know before your first massage
If this is your first massage with us, you’re in the right place. Here are the answers to the questions we’re most often asked before a first appointment, so you know exactly what to expect.
Choosing the right massage
I’ve got pain and muscle tension. Which massage do you recommend?
For pain, muscle tension or sports recovery, our Deep Tissue/Sports Massage is the best choice. If your discomfort is limited to one area, our Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage, Leg Massage or Foot Massage may be a better option.
I’m looking to relax. Which massage should I choose?
If your goal is to relax and unwind, our Relaxing Oil Massage is the perfect choice. If you enjoy heated stones, our Hot Stone Massage is another great option.
I’m pregnant. Which massage should I book?
If you’re over 12 weeks pregnant (past the first trimester), please book our Pregnancy Massage. Your therapist will ensure you’re comfortable throughout your massage, using extra pillows and positioning techniques whenever needed.
What’s the difference between Deep Tissue/Sports Massage and Relaxing Oil Massage?
Deep Tissue/Sports Massage uses firmer pressure to relieve pain, muscle tension and stiffness. Relaxing Oil Massage uses lighter pressure to reduce stress and help you relax.
Will the massage hurt?
Deep Tissue/Sports Massage can feel firm, but it should never be unbearable. Your therapist will adjust the pressure to keep you comfortable throughout your massage.
How long should I book for?
We offer massages from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Most clients choose 60 or 90 minutes, while 30 minutes is ideal for one problem area or your first visit.
Before your first massage
I’ve never had a massage before. What should I expect?
Many of our clients are visiting for the first time. Before your appointment, you’ll receive a short consultation form by email to complete online or when you arrive, so we can tailor your massage to your needs.
Do I need to remove my clothing?
For most massages, you’ll remove your clothing, leaving your underwear on. You’ll be covered with a spa towel throughout your massage, with only the area being massaged exposed. If you’re having a Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage, you won’t need to remove clothing from your lower body. If you’re having a Traditional Thai Massage, we’ll provide comfortable clothing.
Can I request more or less pressure or ask you to avoid certain areas?
Absolutely. Every massage is tailored to you. Simply let your therapist know if you’d like more or less pressure, or if there are any areas you’d like us to focus on or avoid.
Can I choose my therapist?
Yes. When booking online, simply choose your preferred therapist and appointment time.
Are your massage therapists experienced?
Yes. Our professionally trained therapists have trained and gained experience in Thailand. Every massage is tailored to your individual needs, whether you’re visiting for pain relief, recovery or relaxation.
Booking your massage
Can I book my massage online?
Yes. Our online booking system is available 24/7, making it easy to book your massage, choose your preferred therapist, purchase gift vouchers and manage your appointments online.
Do I need to book in advance?
We recommend booking online in advance, especially for evenings and Saturdays, to secure your preferred therapist and appointment time.
What if I need to change or cancel my booking?
Plans can change. If you booked online, you can easily reschedule or cancel your appointment using the link in your booking confirmation email.
Do I need to bring my gift voucher?
Yes. Simply show your gift voucher on your phone to your therapist at your appointment, or bring your paper gift voucher.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept EFTPOS, credit cards (including Paywave), Afterpay and cash.
After your massage
What should I expect after my massage?
Most clients leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. Mild soreness after a Deep Tissue/Sports Massage is normal and usually settles within a day or two. Drinking plenty of water can help your recovery.
How often should I have a massage?
It depends on your goals. Some clients benefit from weekly or fortnightly massages, while others visit monthly for maintenance or relaxation. Your therapist can recommend a schedule that’s right for you. You can book your next appointment before you leave or online anytime.
